LivingWell Institute
Discover what is deep within your well.
LivingWell Institute (LWI) was founded as a 501(c)3 Community Health Nonprofit by the Koval Family and a group of compassionate community members in 2005. Drs. Dan and Penny Koval had a passion for a “whole person” approach to care that included the mind, body, and spirit and a commitment to share this model of care with the world.
LWI's mission is to empower people to take responsibility for their health and to be well in mind, body and spirit.

Our Mission..
A personal health crisis with the Koval’s son Caleb, who had a stroke at the age of 22 months, inspired Drs. Dan and Penny to explore a multi-faceted approach to caring for their entire family through this life-changing experience. The long-standing relationships developed over decades with health experts, community leaders, and community members and the clients that LWI served have created the foundation for the innovative lifestyle education program that is offered.
Through a unique and innovative combination of traditional and nontraditional approaches, the individual is empowered to actively participate in the process of achieving optimal health and well-being. LWI has helped thousands of people and their families to address complex health issues and discover new ways to care for their body, mind, and spirit. And the relationships that are developed through participation in the care at LWI, both with health experts as well as in community, help people to sustain the change in lifestyle over time.
Our Approach…
The process begins with an interactive conversation with a compassionate Care Team member who creates a safe space without judgement for the person to share what brings them to LWI. From here, our Team creates an individualized plan, together with the participant, that empowers the person to actively participate in their journey to wellness.
LivingWell services typically include a combination of one-on-one and family support along with community group activities. Our LivingWell “Lifestyle Education Programs” are provided in a variety of therapeutic environments; at the participants home, our office, or one of our nature-based locations.
The most common types of challenges we address are:
Chronic Pain
Anxiety and Depression
Addiction Recovery
Individual and Family Crises
